Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring with me to sign up?
  1. Your NHFPL Adult library card (If you don't have a library card, you can sign up the same day. Visit our website for details.)
  2. Documentation to verify your current participation in a qualifying assistance program, such as an Official Benefit or Budget Letters from the Connecticut Department of Social Services

Do eCards qualify?
Because eCards do not require proof of address to register, they are not eligible for this program. Only a current Adult library card qualifies.

If you would like to upgrade your eCard and do not have an address, please reach out to our Circulation desk for options. You may be able to provide certification from a temporary living location.
What is included if I qualify?
Each laptop will include a charger, Microsoft Windows, and a five-year device warranty.

Laptops do not include home internet access or Microsoft Office programs. Borrowers may use the laptops with any available Wi-Fi network or other internet connection to which they have access. FREE Wi-Fi is offered at the library.
Are the laptops new?
All laptops provided at the launch of the Laptop ConneCT Program are new devices. As the program continues, devices can be reused through the library lending program and may be loaned to multiple borrowers over their service life.

The Laptop ConneCT Program is administered by the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in partnership with the Connecticut State Library
