Online Library Card Application Terms of Use
Please read the following information below carefully to better understand what you are agreeing to when you apply for a New Haven Free Public Library card account:
Your Email Address
Upon successful registration, we will use the email address you have entered to send the library card number and PIN (personal identification number) for the account.
This information may then be used by you to access:
Online learning tools for test preparation, research, language learning, and more!
Your email address will also be utilized to share interesting and timely eNewsletters (Happenings) and announcements from the Library and Foundation.
You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
Your Library Account and PIN
Your card number and PIN will be sent to you via email and you can change your PIN through your NHFPL Library Account Login page or by visiting your nearest library branch with a valid photo ID.
We strongly recommend that you change your PIN immediately after registration.
Verification of Identity
For your identity protection, we are required to verify your personal identity to open a library account for you.
By completing the Instant eCard application online, you consent to allow the New Haven Free Public Library to use a secure, trusted service to verify your identity. This service does not store your personal information or sell your information to a third party.
